Redoble Family

This month, two amazing mothers celebrated their birthdays: Ta Yang, the cool and hip mom; and Mommy Tess, the maternal archetype.

Both women raised their daughters (and in both cases, their nieces, too) in distinctly different ways. To enumerate those differences would be to oversimplify their individual personalities. Both women have quirks. Each has her own strengths; each has her own weaknesses. Each has her own beliefs; each has her own uncompromising principles. They are very different, those two. And yet, they are also very similar. Identical, even, in their persistence to raise good daughters.

And that, they did. In more ways than one.

Happy birthday, Ta Yang! Happy birthday, Mom! We love you both.
