as they say…for every success of a man, there is always a woman beside him.

there is no safety net, people. we should all be accountable for our own actions.

when i was younger, i looked up to dad because he (let’s face it) has all the charisma. but for all your lack of charisma, i have to say that you were (and always will be) the heart and brains of this entire operation.

as a grown woman, i know i can only hope to achieve the greatness that you have shown to all of us. you may have your own shortcomings as a wife and mother. but as a woman and (more importantly) as a human being, you are perfect. i have yet to meet anyone who’s half as strong, as dynamic, as innately powerful, and as genuine as you.

this goes to say that daddy is one lucky bastard for finding you. i cringe to imagine an alternate Redoble universe without you in it. imagine the horror of that. *cringe*

But I couldnt agree more…didi is the brother’s keeper.

At the end of the day…this family is all we have and all we’ve got…lets keep it intact.

Sa panahon ni Lolo, it was lolo ikot who cared for his brothers and sisters, and even relatives. That’s why Lolo’s relatives care for him, and it’s evident when he was laid to rest. The crowd that he gathered on his burial day was historical in terms of numbers.

Sa panahon nila papa, it was tiyo abon and tiyo deli. Si papa unta could have been the perfect person to do it, because he has the brain, the tongue, the heart, but he just didn’t have the money. Kon naa pa unta kwarta si Papa, our lives including our relatives’s lives could have been a lot better. ( kon sa bagay basig nagpatay na sad ta ron tungod sa katigayunan ni Papa, maayo ra sad.)

Sa atong generation, it was Didi who was the prime mover and the key. He’s also perfect because he has the brain, the heart, the tongue, and the wealth. Di ba we could never have been where we are now if not because of Didi. Sentimentala ani uy, kahilak man sad ta!

Looking back, these people I’ve mentioned were there to carry on the responsibility of being the Godfather. And they never failed us.

The big question now is, who in the next generation will carry this huge responsibility?

I was happy listening to Arby’s response when Roland told him that he’ll be the one to take care of his relatives. Well, I could see the lines on his forehead when said, …, sorry I forgot what exactly his response was, basta it was an acceptance of what his father ordered him to do.

We have lots of potential Godfather in the next generation. I think we have shown to them good examples, it’s up for them to take it from there. So let’s not end what Lolo Ikot has started, let’s take it upon us to carry in on. We have a history to make, so let’s get it on!
